BillGrid is based in New York City. The application was founded by a group of entrepreneurs who brought experience from a number of Fortune 100 companies, including Verizon, Goldman Sachs, Panasonic and Merill Lynch. The application has been praised for its convenient features, which include instant invoice generation that pulls data from the user’s expenses. The application also supports invoices and quotes sent to clients by email or downloaded as a PDF to give users more options.
BillGrid doesn’t bring anything terrible new to the realm of professional finance management. The application offers many of the same services that its competitors provide. Users can generate invoices and quotes instantly and track overdue amounts. The payment options are appealing and let the user choose to set up a payment plan or accept partial payments from clients. Other than that, BillGrid supplies all the features the user would expect from this type of application.
BillGrid is designed to maximize usability with a clean, navigable interface. A new user can easily adapt to the site’s layout and design. The plain background is offset by hints of green and dark grey, which add variety but nothing tremendously memorable. The interface looks professional and modern, yet doesn’t really add the character needed to make BillGrid unique compared to the many other professional money management applications already out there.
New users can sign up for a BillGrid account by clicking the green “Sign Up” link in the upper, right hand corner of the homepage or the matching button along the left side. The next page asks the user to choose their preferred subscription plan. The free trial registration form appears below the subscription plan explanations. The form asks for an email address, password, name and company name. The user is automatically logged in to their new account after submitting the form.
BillGrid offers users three subscription options to choose from. The first is the Free Edition which includes unlimited estimates, invoices and expenses as well as customer management tools, email payment reminders, PDF invoices and SSL security. The first paid plan is the Professional Edition which costs $8 per month and includes a 60 day free trial, access to all basic features, the ability to accept payments online, recurring invoices and company branding. The Team Edition costs $20 per month and includes access for up to three simultaneous users, role-based access, 60 day free trial and the ability to add additional users for an extra $4 per month.
BillGrid is ideal for small teams and freelancers who need a convenient way to manage expenses, invoices and quotes. Users can generate professional looking quotes and invoices that can be emailed or printed as a PDF document. A free subscription option is included and may make an appealing option for users running a business on a tight budget. Larger teams will have to pay for additional access for more users above the included three.
